David Sedaris, best-selling author and NPR humorist, will appear at a special benefit reading for CCA on May 3, 2012, at Zellerbach Auditorium on the UC Berkeley campus. The evening will include a reading from new and unpublished material, a book signing, and, for sponsorship donors, a VIP Cocktail Party with Mr. Sedaris.

With his sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, Sedaris is one of America’s preeminent humor writers.  His newest book, a collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, was an immediate best-seller. He is the author of Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice as well as collections of personal essays, including When You Are Engulfed in Flames, Naked, and Me Talk Pretty One Day.

CCA Trustee Kay Kimpton Walker is chair of this benefit fundraiser for student scholarships.

Party with Mr. Sedaris!

Join Mr. Sedaris at our VIP Cocktail Party before the reading by becoming a sponsor of $350 or more. The fun starts May 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Art Museum. Sponsors will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres by Taste Catering, wine from Robert Keenan Winery, Muscardini Cellars, and specialty cocktails created by Blue Angel Vodka. Sponsors also receive premium seats for the 8 p.m. reading at Zellerbach Hall and convenient valet parking.  Sponsors of $350 or more are invited to ride in a complimentary private motor coach round-trip from San Francisco to the VIP party and reading.
